Oregon’s ductless heat pump incentives

Energy efficiency is crucial not only for the environment but also for our own electric bills. Fortunately, you could possibly be paid to save by installing a ductless heat pump for your home in Portland or Central Oregon.

Ductless systems are easy to install and they operate entirely without ductwork. This prevents any potential energy loss that could come from contaminants and unsealed ducts.

But what exactly is the Oregon Ductless Heat Pump Incentive and how do you know if you qualify?

What is the Oregon Ductless Heat Pump Incentive?

With the climate crisis looming, it's more important than ever to do your part to save energy and make your home eco-friendly. That's why Oregon is giving its residents with an $800 incentive to make the switch from a standard HVAC system to a ductless system.

To receive your incentive to install a ductless system, you first need to establish your eligibility. From there, you can contact an Energy Trust trade ally contractor to have your heat pump installed. Within 60 days of the system being installed, you can submit your application for the incentive at the Energy Trust of Oregon.

Do I qualify for the Oregon Ductless Heat Pump Incentive?

To qualify for the incentive, your home needs to be a single-family or manufactured home that currently uses electric resistance heat for its primary heat source. Your ductless system needs to replace this electric heat and needs to have a heating seasonal performance factor of 9.0 or higher. Your system also needs to be installed by a qualified Energy Trust trade ally contractor.

Newly-built homes or homes that have existing heat pumps, boilers, or gas furnaces don't qualify for the incentive. There's also a limit on one ductless heat pump incentive per residence.

Ready to install your new ductless heat pump?

It's no secret that going green with your home's heating and cooling system is not only good for the environment but also good for your energy bill. In fact, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, between 25% to 45% of the energy used for your home's heating and cooling is wasted partly due to contaminants in the HVAC system forcing it to work harder. That's 25% to 40% of energy you're paying for that you're not using.

Ductless heat pumps are an incredibly efficient way to provide your home with heating and cooling without wasting any energy. If you're ready to install your own ductless system, contact Green Savers today.
