Showcase for Energy Efficiency in Portland
Author: Bill Hoelzer / Published: February 2022 / Read Time: Two Minutes
Last week, we moved into our newly renovated office space in Portland. The office stands as a showcase for cutting edge energy saving technologies in the Pacific Northwest.
Among other things, we installed five of our most popular Mitsubishi heat pumps, so you can feel, hear, and see each of the systems for yourself.

Where We Started in 2017
Originally built as an auto shop back in 1970, the building had fallen in disrepair over the last 50 years. When we bought the building in 2017, we found holes in the roof, rodents, water leaks, single pane windows, ancient HVAC systems, and so much more.

The Renovation
Construction is never easy, but with persistence and infinite patience from our team, it all came together. We added a large office and collaboration space, two smaller offices, a mezzanine, conference room, kitchenette, and a bathroom with a shower.
Renovating the Building
The Building in 2022
About 30 team members, including 13 office staff, work from the Portland office to complete more than 400 home energy retrofits each year. We use about half of the building’s square footage for tools and equipment. The other half we renovated for office space, meeting rooms, and eventually a windows showroom.
