Healthcare workers: SO. MUCH. GRATITUDE.

It’s been a year for everyone, but especially healthcare workers on the frontlines.

Healthcare workers account for about 10% of COVID-19 infections in Oregon. They’re the most likely to get exposed, and that puts their families, roommates, and loved ones at risk too.

To all of the physicians, nurses, emergency responders, and supporting staff in Oregon, we see you putting your lives on the line to keep the rest of us safe. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

To show our appreciation, we installed free central AC systems for three frontline healthcare workers who showed outstanding service and sacrifice in the fight against COVID-19. Our goal was to help them stay cool through the summer so that they could sleep better and come back to work refreshed.

Here’s the story from healthcare hero Joel Madrone

Joel and and his partner Alisha have a combined 34 years of healthcare experience. When the pandemic started, Joel worked as an urgent care nurse serving more than 200 patients a day. Hard as that was, it was even harder because he and his family would lose sleep, tossing and turning as the summer heated up.

We’re proud to support the Madrones and two other outstanding healthcare workers in Oregon with free ENERGY STAR qualified American Standard Silver 16 Low Profile Air Conditioners. The donation wouldn’t have been possible without the contributions of our valued partners:

Gensco

Established in 1948, Gensco is a family-owned and operated regional wholesale distributor and manufacturer of HVAC equipment and supplies.

Energy Trust of Oregon

Since 2002, Energy Trust of Oregon has helped people and businesses transform more than 744,000 homes and buildings with clean energy improvements.

American Standard

Founded in the 1880s, American Standard makes air conditioners that consistently earn top marks for homeowner satisfaction on Consumer Reports surveys.

Bullseye Electric

Bullyseye Electric stands out as the leading electrical contractor in Vancouver, WA. Licensed, bonded, and insured.

Danny Costa Electric

Since starting in 2011, Danny Costa has become the go-to electrician for homeowners and small businesses in Central Oregon.

As we’re writing, there seems to be an end in sight. More than 100,000 Oregonians - mostly frontline healthcare workers - are expected to receive the vaccine in December 2020. We hope that the worst is behind us and that 2021 will bring a new beginning.
