Run the numbers: Within a week of the appointment, your consultant will run the numbers and deliver your Project Proposal. You’ll get a breakdown of costs, cash incentives, and tax credits for home energy upgrades - such as adding insulation, upgrading HVAC, or replacing windows.
Improve your home: If you’d like to hire GreenSavers to improve your home, all you have to do is sign your Project Proposal and send a 50% deposit (financing available). After completing your project, we’ll process the paperwork for your cash incentives. Every client gets a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
How much does a home energy consultation cost?
We charge $150, which counts as a credit towards any GreenSavers project of $2,500 or more.
What’s the difference between a home energy audit and consultation?
We get it, they sound SUPER similar: Home Energy Audit (an “audit) and Home Energy Consultation (a “consultation”). So what’s the difference, and what makes sense for you?
The Main Difference
Whether you start with an audit or consultation, you get a top-to-bottom inspection of your home. The main difference is that an audit includes diagnostic testing with a report. Aside from a visual inspection with an IR camera, a consultation includes neither diagnostics nor detailed reporting.

Should I schedule an audit or consultation?
If you’re not sure where to start, you should probably schedule a home energy consultation in either Portland or Central Oregon. Maybe you have an older home with high energy bills or drafty rooms. A consultation will help you create a list of priorities.
A home energy audit makes sense if you’re seriously considering multiple home energy upgrades - like sealing air leaks, adding insulation, and installing a new ductless heat pump. With an energy audit, you get the data that you need to make the most informed decisions about upgrading your home, and if you hire GreenSavers to help with your upgrades, you get the full $400 back as a credit.
Do I need to be available during a home energy consultation?
Yes!
Think of it like this - Getting a home energy consultation is like going to see your doctor. The doctor learns a lot from the feedback that you give them. Similarly, we learn a lot about your home from the symptoms that you describe and the answers to questions that come up.
Please don’t schedule meetings or plan to run errands during your home energy consultation. You’ll learn more about your home and get a much better result by engaging with your consultant.
Does the home energy consultation include a Home Energy Score?
The language is so similar, but a home energy audit from GreenSavers does not include a Home Energy Score.

We only offer home energy consultations for single-family homes in Portland, Oregon and Bend, Oregon as well as homes within a 40 mile radius around Bend, Oregon.
We also require that you own the home that receives the home energy consultation.
