Attic insulation incentives jump 500%
For a limited time, you can get huge incentives to insulate your attic. The Energy Trust of Oregon recently boosted attic insulation incentives from $0.25 to $1.25 per square foot, but the incentives expire on March 31, 2021. Here’s what you need to know.

How much would I save on insulation?
Let’s say you have a 1,000 square foot attic. If you’re like most people, you’ll need to seal air leaks, insulate knee walls, dense pack slopes, add roof vents, and of course cover the floor of the attic with a thick layer of cellulose. This is a breakdown of estimated costs and savings.

With standard incentives, you would have gotten back $250 in cash incentives from the Energy Trust. But if you insulate your attic before March 2021, you’d get back $1.25 per square foot. In this example, you’d save $1,250 - more than 35% of the project cost.
